Neurofeedback training is a big commitment of time and money. However, you will quickly find that the benefits you get from increased alertness, improved mood, and better concentration make the investment well worth it.
Your insurance may cover sessions, but many do not. The best way to find out if they will pay for this is to call your insurance provider directly and ask them the following questions:
- "Do I have out of network behavioral health coverage for licensed psychologists?" If not, then they will not pay for you to come to the Brain Center of Wisconsin. Please call us to discuss out of pocket options.
- If you do have out of network benefits, ask them if they cover CPT codes 90801 (for the first session) and 90876 (for ongoing sessions). Ask if 90876 is only for specific diagnoses, and if so, which ones. Ask how many sessions are allowed and what is the deductible and copayment. Also ask if prior authorization is required.
- If you get bad news from your insurance company, consider your ability to pay for treatments out of pocket. Neurofeedback is a big commitment on the front end, but in the long run it may actually save you money, improve your health, and give you a better quality of life.
